睽違2年Ed Sheeran在2023年5月推出了全新專輯《-》("Subtract"/"減")，2022年Ed接連遭遇妻子懷第二胎時患腫瘤及好友過世，因此陷入前所未有的低潮，這也讓Ed對於人生有了不同的看法，而這張專輯Ed將最真實的自己呈現出來，不再為了迎合主流而創作。
這首Curtains便是出自於此張專輯，描述一個人生活陷入低潮，並且將自己封閉，獨自承受著痛苦，幸好此時有個人走進他的心裡，將他拉出黑暗，一起朝向陽光。
